Independent Practice and Business Owners (IPBO) Committee


The NPO Independent Practice and Business Owners Committee (IPBO) works to advocate for and provide support and education to nurse practitioners who practice independently or own their own business. 

While these NPs face many of the same issues other NPs encounter in practice, they also have to deal with issues involving running a business, billing and coding, working directly with insurance companies and more.

The IPBO committee supports these NPs by:

  • Offering a fun and unique networking opportunity for independent NPs
  • Providing a forum for NPs who are business owners to identify and recommend action on issues
  • Exploring business arrangements and entities to assist members in operating their practice

Thriving Together: Oregon NP Business Owners’ Lunch Break

Join us for the remaining 2025 sessions of Thriving Together, an informal lunch-hour space for Oregon nurse practitioners in business ownership and independent practice to connect, share ideas, and support one another.

Committee Leadership Update

IPBO Committee Chair Dani Dupuis has confirmed she will continue serving in this role and is honored to support Oregon’s NP business owners through collaboration, education, and shared resources.

Committee Involvement

The IPBO is open for any NPO member who currently, or plans in the future to, practice independently or own their own practice.
