Program Description
This conference is designed to support nurse practitioners and their patients in their advanced practice role.

If you are registering online, you might want to print out the brochure as the schedule and descriptions may help as you register online.
Also, if you are an ONA member who is currently enrolled in an advanced degree program to become an NP and would like to attend, please print out the registration form below and either fax in or mail in the registration with payment. The online registration system is not set up for ONA members who are NP students not yet affiliated with NPO.

Target Audience
The target audience for this program includes nurse practitioners, nurses, physicians, physician assistants and all interested health care providers.
Needs Assessment
The content of this educational program was determined by the planning committee. Several approaches include: monitoring the major nurse practitioner journals, surveys to NPO members, program feedback by attendees of previous conferences, expert faculty assessment, literature review, nursing practice, and new medical/nursing knowledge.
Program Objective
- Provide current clinical, diagnostic, pharmacologic, and management knowledge and skills in patient care across the lifespan
- Provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and clinical experiences with colleagues involved in the delivery of patient care.
- Discuss professional, educational, and financial issues affecting the role of the advanced practice nurse as they relate to primary and acute care practice specialties.
- Provide information on emerging trends in health care, practice management, and political issues to assist advanced practice nurses in positioning their practice for the future of healthcare.
- Challenge participants to consider the complexities of an interdisciplinary, highly complex healthcare system as it affects future roles and practice opportunities.
Nursing Contact Hours
This program contains opportunities for 22.5 contact hours of live continuing nursing education. Awarding of contact hours will be determined by the number of sessions the participant attends. Additional contact hours will be available in self-study and poster exhibit formats. All requirements for self-study and poster exhibits must be completed during the conference to receive these contact hours.
Accreditation Statement
Acute Care Education Associates, Inc. is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Washington Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Commission on Accreditation.

Posters and self-study articles will be available for additional contact hours. To receive these contact hours, please review the posters and self- study articles

The Nurse Practitioners of Oregon invite you to share your product expertise with us during our 33rd Annual NPO Education Conference, September 30 – October 3, 2010. Our exhibit hall will be open Friday and Saturday October 1-2, 2010.
Call For Abstracts for 33nd Annual NPO Conference
Submission Deadline: July 15, 2010
- Seeking work reflecting research, practice innovations, role development, advanced nursing clinical practice, advanced nursing education practice, initiatives, or evaluation processes that demonstrate excellence in practice.
- Self-Study Continuing Education Articles must be unpublished works
- Submission does not preclude from national submission; however, it is recommended that any work submitted would be a different version of the final work for publication.
- Posters will be no greater than 4’ x 8’ in size.
The Nurse Practitioners of Oregon invite you to share and display your evidence-based research. Abstracts now being accepted for inclusion in our poster exhibit hall. Abstracts for unpublished articles for our independent study continuing education are also being accepted.
If you would like to prepare a poster or an unpublished article for a self-study CE for the conference, please submit a detailed abstract to npo@acutecareed.com no later than July 15, 2010. All submissions will be notified by August 6, 2010 of their acceptance.
