PCSS MAT Buprenorphine Waiver Training

NPO is excited to team up with Providers Clinical Support System (PCCS) to provide a 4-hour session as part of an MAT Buprenorphine Waiver Training. The session will be held Saturday, Oct. 13 from 1-5 p.m. as one of our breakout sessions.

To apply for a waiver to prescribe buprenorphine, nurse practitioners (NPs) must, in accordance with the Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA), complete 24 hours of specialized training. The training includes 8 hours of MAT waiver training and an additional 16 hours of training. This session will provide 4 hours toward the 8 hours required for the waiver training, with an online training module provided by PCSS to complete the waiver training.

At the end of the 8 hour MAT waiver training for NPs through PCSS, participants will receive a CE Certificate for 8.0 continuing nursing education contact hours (8.0 contact hours in pharmacology) provided by the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA).

This session is part of the conference, but for those who want to attend this session only, you can register for this standalone session at a cost of $25 for NPO members and $50 for non-members.

NOTE: You will have to complete both the in-person training AND the online portion to receive any CE for this session. The CE is provided by APNA, not NPO or the Oregon Nurses Association.

The American Psychiatric Nurses Association is accredited with distinction as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
