Oregon Worker’s Compensation Division eBill Project

At several advisory committee meetings, the division heard from provider groups that electronic billing would greatly help reduce some of their administrative burdens. This is why the division started the Oregon work comp eBill project. The division will provide eBill rules and an implementation guide. Along with the ASC X12 TR3 national billing standards, the rules and implementation guide will help insure that providers and payers have what they need in order to exchange electronic bills, chart notes, attachments and acknowledgements.

During some of the division’s recent outreach activities, we saw some providers who already do work comp eBilling with the help of a clearinghouse, and it’s encouraging to know that work comp eBilling really works, including the ability to send electronic attachments with the bills.

We encourage all providers to go to the division’s website and view some of the helpful tools we’ve provided for eBilling that can be found under the Billing & Payment tab. On this web page, you can also listen to the advisory committee meetings as well as find out how to connect with other providers who are looking at work comp eBilling. If you have any questions, you can email us at or call 503-947-7606, and we’d be happy to talk with you.
