On March 30, 2020, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) approved emergency rules for APRNs in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

• NPs may now order home health services and order/supervise pulmonary and cardiac rehabilitation services.
• CRNAs may now, if not able to do so previously, directly bill CMS without a requirement for CRNAs to be under the supervision of a physician.
