Loss of a Nurse Practitioner Pioneer

Long time NPO/ONA member and a pioneer for the role of Nurse Practitioners in Oregon, Jeanne Davis died on Monday April 20,2015

Jeanne attended the Ancker Hospital School of Nursing, in St. Paul, MN and started her nursing career in Arizona where she met her husband. They relocated to Roseburg, OR where she worked for a physician until he retired and then worked for the Douglas County Health Department. She attended the Harbor WHCNP certificate program, and then returned to the Health Department, where she worked as a nurse practitioner in the Family Planning Clinic until her retirement. One of her passions, besides being politically active, was serving as the camp nurse for the Little River Christian Camp near Glide, OR.

NPO and ONA thank Jeanne for her leadership and commitment to nursing. Our thoughts are with her family, friends and community.
